Meghan Markle stars as intern stacking boxes and making brews in new ad for coffee brand

While Meghan Markle retired from acting in 2018 when she became a royal, it appears that she hasn’t completely dropped her previous career, as she recently featured as a background extra in a new Instagram advert for a coffee company.

Meghan reportedly holds shares in the company Clevr Blends and can be seen taking on the role of an intern– stacking boxes and making hot drinks. The CEO and co-founder of the company Hannah Mendoza talks to the camera in the ad and walks around the office, thanking her employees for their hard work in 2023.

The end of the bizarre advert shows Meghan failing to fist-bump another colleague before she bursts into laughter and walks off camera.

The interesting take on the advert was posted to Clevr Blends Instagram page, along with the caption: “Damn, you’re keeping us BUSY right now! Had to call in some reinforcements.

“So grateful for the immense love and support this year—thanks for helping us keep the latte-loving dream alive, and thriving!xo”.

Meghan confirmed three years ago that she had invested an undisclosed amount of money in the brand and, at the time, she used her connections to promote the company. She gifted a basket of the brand's products to her neighbour and friend Oprah Winfrey who promoted the brand with her followers online.

The royal also shared a clip to her Instagram earlier this year where she visited the company and could be seen sipping on a cup of one of their hot drinks. Megan also promoted the brand in November where she penned: “One of my favourite ways to start and end each day.”

Meghan reportedly came across the brand in 2017 when she sampled the supplies at a pop-up store, and later confirmed her investment in 2019. In a statement to Fortune, Meghan said: “This investment is in support of a passionate female entrepreneur who prioritizes building community alongside her business. I’m proud to invest in Hannah’s commitment to sourcing ethical ingredients and creating a product that I personally love and has a holistic approach to wellness. I believe in her and I believe in her company.”

CEO Hanah also confirmed the investment and thanked the dutchess as she said: “Entrepreneurs need funding, but they also need advisers who care deeply about what they are building. I'm grateful to have found both in the Duchess of Sussex. Her passion for what we're creating is palpable, and I couldn't imagine a more aligned partnership. We're excited for the road ahead.”
